Easy DIY Halloween Costumes for Kids

I am SO excited that it’s October!! To me, it’s the start of the holiday season. I honestly never felt this way before I had kids, but I basically find a way to celebrate everything now. Wait, you mean you didn’t give your kids a basket of Halloween themed goodies on October 1st? And yes, that includes all sorts of things for my 10-month-old. Duh, I know I’m crazy and that he (and probably not Elouise either) won’t remember his jack-o-lantern sippy cup when he’s in his 20’s but it sure made him happy today! Long story short, I go overboard for holidays now, it’s just who I am. For Halloween costumes this year I wanted to make it super fun since I have two tiny humans to dress. I am totally down for the family costume but my hubby doesn’t love them and the 31st is also his birthday so it’s only fair for me to let him off the hook. It was so fun for me to come up with ideas that I decided to put together a whole blog post. Now, these costumes aren’t the pre-made store bought ones (and there’s nothing wrong with those, the stores just don’t sell these ones) and they also aren’t the crazy DIY kind with sewing and paper mache. In fact, every one of these starts with clothes from one of my favorite brands, Primary. Solid colors, no logos, cozy, and totally going back into my kid’s dressers after Halloween. The rest of the details were all things I grabbed from around my house or super cheap do-dads, I’ll link as much as I can for you guys!

The Many Faces of Elouise Jane

So, if you’ve followed me for a while you know my girl has got some serious personality. Like, the things that she comes up with are hilarious. I often wish that I could have a camera recording her 24/7. Yesterday when we put on her new dress from Cuteheads I knew that we had to snap some photos of her in it because her face lit up. She felt like a princess, but you know that sassy kind that has a little edge. There were so many good ones, that I couldn’t just share one on Instagram and keep the rest to myself. So here ya go, enjoy the cuteness.

The Cannon Adventures: Pumpkin Patch Fun

Elouise’s dress | bow | boots | bracelets

Earlier this week Elouise, my mom, and I, went to a super fun event with Baby Bjorn at the cutest pumpkin patch. Elouise had the time of her life exploring all of the fall fun and touched at least half of the pumpkins. I knew that we had to take another trip to our local pumpkin patch so that she could explore some more and we could share the fun with Daddy. So, thats just what we did yesterday. Tom’s Farm is a the cutest little spot down the freeway from us and they had the perfect little patch set up with a variety of pumpkins, music, and games.

Small Shop Spotlight: Poppy Lane & Co.

It’s another Small Shop Spotlight with one of my favorites, Poppy Lane & Co. (PS you’ll want to read all the way until the end for a coupon code and a second giveaway) So, my first ever baby item that I received in the mail was a Poppy Lane & Co. bracelet and a matching one for me. Honestly, opening up that package was when it really hit me that a baby was going to be joining us. I just stared at that tiny little newborn size bracelet and marveled at how pretty soon that would fit on the tiny wrist of the sweet baby girl that was growing inside of me. For the next few weeks, I would pull out the bracelet and squeal and then stare at it while imagining all of the memories we would make in our matching bracelets.

Small Shop Spotlight: Favorite Hair Accessories

Being a girl mom means that we have a whole lot of bow, headbands, clips, and other accessories filling all sorts of drawers and bins in our house. In fact, I find bows in the most random spots, like the nooks and crannies of Elouise’s play kitchen, fallen in between the seats of the car, and in Daddy’s shoes. I’ve shares about some of my other favorite accessory shops before but today I have three awesome ones to share, each with their own coupon code.
