Shared Gender Neutral Big Kid Room

This has been my favorite project so far in our house. We have done quite a few room make-overs since moving in but this was a labor of love in the best way possible. Trying to find a vibe and design that would fit our home and also be appropriate for a shared boy & girl room was tough! We ended up with a bright, boho, gender neutral theme and it all came together exactly like I imagined it would. We worked with Bed Bath & Beyond to create the look and you can snag all of these amazing pieces because I’ll have them linked at the end of the post. The kids have been doing so great in the shared space and except for waking up about an hour earlier each morning they are sleeping like champs! I’m so glad that we decided to put them in a shared room before baby number three arrives. Keep scrolling to see all of the little details!

Big Kid Beds!

I am so excited to share this post with you guys! It’s kind of bittersweet though because it means my little babies are not so little anymore. Actually, maybe they’ll seem even littler once I see them sleeping peacefully in their new twin size beds. Yes, you read that right, twin size beds! Elouise was due for an upgrade at three and a half years old and Sully is just about as big as her so we figured, why the heck not put our 18 month old in a twin size bed? Part of the reason why we went for it was because we found the perfect mattresses. You all know how important it is to me to bring green and safe products into my home. Well, did you know that most mattresses have secret sneaky chemicals in them? Yuck! Thats why I’m so happy to share that we found Avocado Green Mattresses.

Keeping Baby in Arm’s Reach

We set up our first baby item for baby number three, which makes things feel super surreal. Of course the kids assumed it was a new toy for them but it’s actually a really awesome co-sleeper bassinet from Arm’s Reach. I has never considered a “co-sleeping product” since we are not the co-sleeping type. I love the idea of being all snuggly and close with my baby but Christian and I are just big ol’ grumps when it comes to our sleep. Honestly, I can’t even have him touching me when it’s time to sleep, so anytime I had to have baby with me while I slept it was not very successful. All that to say, I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to buy this item based on the same. However, after setting it up I realized just how functional and perfect it will be for our situation with this baby.

Sweet Summer Playtime

We are lucky enough to live in Southern California where it’s pretty much always great weather for outdoor playtime. However, when the middle of summer hits it gets scorching hot, which is why I love the Little Tikes Fun Zone Tumblin’ Tower. This toy is perfect for summertime play, and actually works both indoor and outdoor. We are having a bit of a heat wave this week so we actually cleaned it off and brought it inside for playtime. Oh, and did I mention it can be used for water play as well? Just hook up your hose and you’ve got lots of fun features for your kids to get soaked. Cleaner Carpets without Chemicals

If you’ve been around, even for the shortest amount of time, you’ve probably noticed I am a freak about chemicals coming into my home. We are non-toxic as possible, and that means that the cleaning products we use are all natural and safe for our family. Well, when I decided enough was enough with our nasty rental carpet that my children lay and play on, my need for non-toxic made it super tough to find a solution. Literally, almost everything I was using some sort of harsh, abrasive, awful, chemical solution to clean my carpets. Meaning I was trading germs for chemicals, and I was not okay with that trade-off. There had to be a better way, and I knew I found it when I came across Zerorez.
