Why We Love OmaSense

Newborn and restful sleep aren’t exactly synonymous. I mean, when (and if)  they sleep, they sleep “like a baby”, don’t get me wrong. As a parent, we are doomed to interrupted sleep for at least a month or two and sometimes years after. I knew this after having my first two kiddos, but what I didn’t realize was that the elusive newborn sleep time could also interrupt my day. I’ve partnered with Levana to share about Oma Sense, their baby movement monitoring system and how it’s helped to the way we do nap time around here.

3rd Trimester Favorites

This trimester has been the toughest for sure for me. I’m actually surprised I’m saying this because I was sick for the entire first trimester (and then some) but it’s true. My body is fatigued, in pain, and I’ve been dealing with all sorts of annoying health things that the doctors can only explain as “one of those weird things that is just part of pregnancy”. That’s what you want to hear after waiting in urgent care for hours because they were worried it was pre-term labor,  right? Anyway, I have 10 days left until due date but as I’ve learned, this baby will come in his own time. Sully came a week early and Elouise came a week late, so who knows what this kiddo is going to do. Maybe he’ll actually come on his due date? We shall see! In the meantime I rounded up the things I’ve been gravitating toward this trimester.

Keeping Baby in Arm’s Reach

We set up our first baby item for baby number three, which makes things feel super surreal. Of course the kids assumed it was a new toy for them but it’s actually a really awesome co-sleeper bassinet from Arm’s Reach. I has never considered a “co-sleeping product” since we are not the co-sleeping type. I love the idea of being all snuggly and close with my baby but Christian and I are just big ol’ grumps when it comes to our sleep. Honestly, I can’t even have him touching me when it’s time to sleep, so anytime I had to have baby with me while I slept it was not very successful. All that to say, I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to buy this item based on the same. However, after setting it up I realized just how functional and perfect it will be for our situation with this baby.

Sweet Summer Playtime

We are lucky enough to live in Southern California where it’s pretty much always great weather for outdoor playtime. However, when the middle of summer hits it gets scorching hot, which is why I love the Little Tikes Fun Zone Tumblin’ Tower. This toy is perfect for summertime play, and actually works both indoor and outdoor. We are having a bit of a heat wave this week so we actually cleaned it off and brought it inside for playtime. Oh, and did I mention it can be used for water play as well? Just hook up your hose and you’ve got lots of fun features for your kids to get soaked. Keep scrolling to see my kids having the time of their life on this bad boy.

Zoomin’ into the New Year

I can’t even believe that my sweet baby girl is big enough to ride around on her own bike. Well, if we are going to be technical about it she’s scooting because right now what she has is a balance bike. All Elouise wanted for Christmas from Santa was a purple bike and a helmet, so you better believe I worked with the big guy at the North Pole to make sure that happened.
