Wipe, Wipe, Baby

I’ve been pretty “punny” lately with my blog titles. If you thought that cheesy jokes were reserved only for Dads, I’m here to tell you that you have been missing out. Anyway, that is totally not the point of this post. I actually wanted to share a little mom hack I have found and that is the specialty wipe. I might have just invented that phrase but I think it describes it well. Pretty much I now have a few different wipes in my arsenal at any given moment that all have specific purposes. Besides my baby wipes for diaper changes I carry nose & face wipes, tooth & gum wipes, and pacifier & bottle wipes. You guys, yes they are a thing and yes you 100% need them. Thanks to Dr. Brown’s for sponsoring this post so I can share all of my secrets with you.

Tooth, there it is!

Guys, stop, I know my jokes are awesome. Really though, Sully cut his first tooth and the second one is right about to pop through. While he looks a-freaking-dorable with that tiny tooth, teething is rough. I was not prepared because, you guessed it, Elouise never had any teething symptoms. So here I am trying my best to do everything to comfort this sweet boy. Not to mention mentally prepare for the slew of teeth that are to come. I have found that having a variety of teething toys to circulate through is what keeps my little buddy happy. Thanks to Dr. Brown’s for sponsoring this post.

Our Favorite Sleep Sack + Giveaway

Sleep has become quite the luxury over here since this little dude has entered our family. I don’t mean to sound dramatic, but when your first kid sleeps through the night from day one, even having to wake up once a night is a big adjustment. Well, with Sullivan we have tried all sorts of tricks to try and coax him in to sleeping through night (although now I know that some kids sleep through the night until they are toddlers, gasp!). Swaddling was doing pretty well for us, but our boy is a mover and a shaker, so at 5 months we had to take him out of the swaddle since he was starting to roll. After some trial and error we have found what works best for us with the Nested Bean Zen Sack and I’m giving you the chance to win one for yourself! Read until the end to find out how. Thank you to Nested Bean for sponsoring this post.

Embracing the Big Sister Role

It’s no secret that my kiddos are not far apart in age, which means that Elouise had barely entered toddler-hood when a baby came into our family. Since she was so little it was difficult to really, truly prepare her for the new addition in a way that she could rationally process ahead of time. Sure, if you asked her where brother was she would point to my belly but I’m sure she had no clue that she was about to lose out on mama and daddy’s constant undivided attention. That meant that the transitional process when brother came home from the hospital required extra time and a whole lot of grace. Luckily she never expressed any disappointment or frustration with Sullivan being around, in fact mostly she was unaware or indifferent. Still, we had to get creative to help her feel involved. One of my favorite ways to help her embrace her big sister role is letting her help with feeding Sully his Dr. Browns bottles.

Still Sleeping Sound with Owlet

Yes, that title says “still” because I posted about this little baby before. To be clear I’m talking about the Owlet not Sullivan, because obviously that little dude has been all over my blog posts lately. Well, the Owlet smart sock is maybe one of the most genius baby items on the market. Anything that can add to the peace of mind for a parent is a must have in my opinion and believe it or not, it just got better. They just released a brand new, updated, more efficient, and even smarter sock.
