#babyregistryessentialsgiveaway

When we registered for Elouise I remember being so overwhelmed. I am pretty “type a” so I had done a ton of research on baby products, but nothing prepares you for the insane checklist that is handed to you with that scanner gun. I remember the amount of suggested items on the registry list to be around 300 or something equally as crazy. Well I was a sucker, because immediately all of my research and logic went out the window. If this list said I needed it, it was going on the registry! Needless to say, I ended up with all sorts of things that got used once, and even some that didn’t get used at all. It made me sick to think of all the money that could have been spent on diapers. (Why don’t babies come potty trained?) So this time I knew things had to be different, and I created a no nonsense registry filled with only the most essential items. Right now on my Instagram page you can register to win 10 of those times.

Family Maternity Photos

I can’t believe we are getting so close to meeting this sweet baby. With my baby shower this next weekend, I know that the rest of the time is going to just fly by with nesting and loads of tiny baby laundry. So, I knew I wanted to take some family maternity photos pronto. First of all, because I didn’t want to run out of time, and second, I knew I would only be getting bigger and bigger these last weeks. I enlisted the help of one of my besties and her super skilled photographer husband from Eric McFarland Photography to take our pictures. The results, as you can see, are positively dreamy. Plus, my dress from Roolee boutique made this 8 month pregnant lady feel like a zillion bucks. I also promised to share a bit more about how my husband and I met and how he proposed, so scroll down past all the pretty photos to read that goodness.

Planning a Second Baby Shower

Planning a baby shower for a second baby is a whole lot different. When I was pregnant with Elouise we literally needed everything. Registering was a headache to say the least. I’ll never forget that the list they give us at the baby store suggested we have close to 300 items on our list. Yikes! We ended up having two baby showers filled with friends, family, and all sorts of games and perfectly planned details. Well, this time around I considered just doing a sprinkle but decided to stick with a standard shower (I’ll explain more about that below). We also barely registered for anything, since we have so many of the essentials. So I was determined to have a low key, simple, no-fuss shower. However, event planning is one of my favorite things, so I knew there had to be some flair to the day. One of the big things I knew I didn’t want to compromise on was the invites, which is why I went with Minted.

Dear Target Checkout Girl…

Dear Target Checkout Girl,

I’m sure you meant well. I’m sure that when you saw me come through your line for the fifth time in two weeks you felt like we were old friends. So it makes sense why you wanted to strike up some small talk. It’s pretty clear that I’m pregnant. If my belly wasn’t proof enough, the way my daughter loving taps constantly on my bump from the cart saying “baby, baby” probably gave it away. Still, I’m not sure you realized how what you said to me made me feel instantly discouraged and stuck with me for the rest of the week.

Second Trimester Survival Guide

Now that I’ve made it past the second trimester I thought it would be nice to compile a little list of the sweet little gems that made it possible for me to make it through the last 12 weeks. Sure, every pregnancy and woman is a little different, but I’m pretty sure that all of these things should be considered must haves. Don’t worry, I will tell you exactly why I needed all 6 of these products to get me through, but first the introductions.
