Dressing the Bump: Week 22

July9thShoot.pt2-10

Wait, didn’t I just post one of these? Well either way, we are now in week 22 and I’m sticking to my guns and sharing another dressing the bump post. So, there. Honestly, I think my belly pretty much looks the same for now, but inside things are getting crazy. I have felt this little guy moving since right around 12 weeks, but the full on kicks and punches have now begun and you’d think he was an aspiring blackbelt. He also loves to flip around using my bladder as a spring board, so that’s really fun. For the last five months I have been using little tricks to keep wearing as many non-maternity pieces as possible, but I don’t think they’re going to work for much longer.

The Final Stretch-

Okay, so I’m not in the final stretch of pregnancy but I am in the final days of wearing my non-maternity clothes. I’ve been lucky enough to get by with three basic tricks. The first is that I love a good cozy t-shirt, and honestly to me cozy means not touching my stomach. I know, I’m kinda oddly particular. So, most of my t-shirts are sized up and nice and flowy anyway, which means to this point they all have been doing just fine in the task of covering my growing bump. Up until now I’ve also been rocking my same pants and shorts, either sticking to things with a stretchy waistband or using the hair-tie trick. These shorts are some of my favorites because of their length, perfect for modestly bending over to scoop up my wild toddler in public. I also have to say that I’ve been loving my Evy’s Tree pieces for lightweight coverage during the cool summer nights. I shared my other trick in week 21 about how I make my favorite summer dresses work with my bump. But I’m afraid my bottoms have all reached their stretching point and my belly is even surpassing some of my shirts.

So I think it’s time for me to go on the hunt for some quality and cute maternity pieces. I’m talking the kind where people have no idea you’re even wearing maternity clothes because you still look all kinds of hip and cool. Where are some of your favorite places to find some great maternity pieces?
