Dressing the Bump: Week 26

It’s week 26, which means that I am just two weeks away from the third trimester and three short months away from meeting this baby. Holy cow! No wonder my belly is feeling so large and in charge lately. Elouise now is to the point where she kind of sits on it like a built in seat when I hold her. Great for her, so not comfy for mama. My sciatica has also been showing its comedic side lately, striking at the most hilariously awkward moments. Pregnancy is not for for those who are easily embarrassed, I can say that for a fact.

Down here in Southern California it’s still just as hot as ever. So, you can find me most days wearing some sort of cute dress that also happens to be flowy and loose. Those two words, flowy and loose, can pretty much be applied to all of my wardrobe at the moment. I have opted to not be one of the people who wears the super cute skin tight pregnancy clothing in either of my pregnancies. I get slightly jealous when I see other cute mamas rocking a tiny tanktop with their cute bump stealing the show, but my love handles tend to try and steal the spotlight. Anyone else with me? Thats why I love this dress from Arden Store. Not only is it on sale right now, but it also happens to be the perfect combination of stretchy with gorgeous drapey layers. By the way half of the adjectives I’m using to describe my clothing are giving me glaring red lines under them, who knew flowy and drapey weren’t actual words? You get what I mean though!

The moral of the story is, pregnant or not, this dress is going to be a staple in my wardrobe, so run and snag it while its a super good deal. These minimal wedges have also been something I go to frequently and believe it or not they are actually Dr. Scholl’s! I felt like such an old lady ordering them, but when I wear them I feel like a million bucks because it’s like I’m walking on clouds. They’re the perfect shoe for us tall girls who get tired of wearing flats, for people who don’t want to sacrifice comfort, or for pregnant ladies who feel like their feet are going to implode when they walk more than 10 minutes.
