Alright folks, here it is, my first video for the blog. I just couldn’t pass up the chance to share two of my new favorites from Dr. Browns with you and a video just seemed like the perfect way to do that! Since we are getting things set up for introducing bottles to Sullivan next week, we got to try out the Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Bottle Sterilizer and Dr. Brown’s Universal Drying Rack.

 With Elouise we totally missed the boat for bottle feeding and we knew that this time around we were going to be prepared. To me that meant that everything was super duper clean and sanitized with not a germ in sight.  Am I the only one who is a total germaphobe in regards to their newborn but lets their toddler eat fruit snacks off the ground? You can admit it, no judgements here! Anyway, here we are, a week early, getting everything all squeaky clean since our doctor recommended that we introduce a bottle no earlier than 4 weeks and no later than 2 months. I knew that with Sullivan I wanted to the option to go out on a date with my hubby or let Daddy feed him.

The first thing we did was wash our bottles with hot, soapy water and rinse them really well. After that all we had to do was fit them all on the drying rack. I love this drying rack more than the one I used to have for a few reasons. First of all, it folds completely flat, which means when all of the items are dry it can fit under the sink without taking up too much room. Another thing that makes it great is the fact that it has so many varying drying prong shapes and sizes. Virtually any item, big or small, can fit easily on this rack. The other thing I love is its sloped design to make the drying process that much more efficient.

After everything was dry it was time to sanitize. Let me just say that the word “deluxe” is in the name of this product for a reason, this thing is amazing! It’s virtually impossible to mess the process up. All you do is fill up the little measuring cup the system comes with to the designated line and dump it in the bottom. After that you load up your items. The main compartment has a tray that is made to specifically hold bottles easily in place, and the top is perfect for small items like the nipples. After that you press the power button and voila, it does all of the work for you! Then once the system shows that the cool down is complete you can use the handy dandy tongs to grab out all of your stuff.

Seriously you guys, I’m actually excited to clean bottles. Am I nuts? Maybe. Check back in next week to see how Sullivan likes his bottles.
