Mrs Seacannon Must-Haves: Tot Squad Baby Gear Services

There are certain things I am a slight germaphobe about, but since becoming a mother I have found that it’s all about picking your battles when it comes to germs. We’ve all heard the advice, you know, a healthy exposure to germs is good to build up the immune system or God made the dirt and the dirt won’t hurt. Well, dirt might not hurt as far as passing along deathly diseases but it does hurt my mama heart. I try to keep the “obvious” things clean, giving extra care to the things that go into my kiddo’s mouth. Then, I read a study done by the TODAY show  that a car seat tends to have twice as many germs than a toilet. Um, WHAT? Yes. I immediately knew I had to find a solution, and I finally found it with The Tot Squad.

I’ll be honest, while I like to keep things clean, I am really not as fond of actually cleaning things. This is especially true when it is in the realm of deep cleaning, or cleaning something important like a car seat that I could potentially ruin. Clearly, I was not suited for deep cleaning my car seat. When I discovered The Tot Squad I let out a sigh of relief because I had finally found an affordable and convenient option to clean my child’s germ ridden car seat. This was even more of a necessity for us since we were passing along our infant car seat that Elouise used for over a year to baby boy. Imagining my sweet, tiny, fragile, newborn in a car seat that was as germy as a toilet made me cringe.

So, we made an appointment to have both Elouise’s toddler car seat and the infant car seat cleaned. It’s so easy to make an appointment online and you can drop your baby gear off at their offices, pay a small fee to have them come straight to your door, or find a local retailer that has a pop up. We chose the third option since a Babies R Us near us was going to be offering The Tot Squad’s services. We chose to do the deepest of cleanings for the infant car seat, appropriately called The Full Monty. This includes everything you can imagine, vacuum, wipe down, steam cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting, and extensive stain treatment and removal. For the toddler car seat, that has seen less love, although has pretty impressive stains from toddler antics, we chose the Lotta Love package. Her car seat got vacuumed, steam cleaned, sanitized and disinfected, and a light stain treatment. The before and after pictures are unbelievable.

I walked away feeling a little bit more ready for baby boy to make his arrival, considering I have a clean and installed car seat waiting for him. A big thank you to the amazing Tot Squad!
