The moment I knew I was having a little girl, I made a decision. I was going to be picky about how I dressed her. This is until of course she could voice her own opinions, in which case I’m sure she’ll pick the most obnoxious combination of clothing as most toddlers do. My favorite was a pink and purple dress, halloween socks, and glittery ruby red slippers. God bless my mother for letting me leave the house like that. One of the places I discovered on my journey for stylish girl clothes is Alexandra Rose Handmade.
Planning a Second Baby Shower
Planning a baby shower for a second baby is a whole lot different. When I was pregnant with Elouise we literally needed everything. Registering was a headache to say the least. I’ll never forget that the list they give us at the baby store suggested we have close to 300 items on our list. Yikes! We ended up having two baby showers filled with friends, family, and all sorts of games and perfectly planned details. Well, this time around I considered just doing a sprinkle but decided to stick with a standard shower (I’ll explain more about that below). We also barely registered for anything, since we have so many of the essentials. So I was determined to have a low key, simple, no-fuss shower. However, event planning is one of my favorite things, so I knew there had to be some flair to the day. One of the big things I knew I didn’t want to compromise on was the invites, which is why I went with Minted.
Dressing the Bump: Week 30
I’m 30 weeks and loving this nightie and robe combo from Belabumbum! Plus the maternity and nursing chemise
is a dual product since it works now for my giant bump and will be perfect for middle of the night nursing sessions when baby arrives. I’m really trying to soak up this week because next week we will be in a single digit countdown and I know at that point time is going to fly by. Between all of the baby prep and all of the other craziness happening in our family, this baby will be here in the blink of an eye. I cannot wait to smell his sweet little newborn head, there’s something about that newborn smell that acts as a magic cure for all of the cares of the world. Until then, I have been finding my source of calm in my morning quiet times, this morning was particularly meaning for me.
Mrs Seacannon Must-Haves: Fresh Wave Odor Removing Products
Let me start of by saying that I have always had a super sensitive sense of smell. During pregnancy its the worst! I can sniff our smells with the tenacity of a bomb sniffing dog, except I’m on the hunt for odors and once I smell them they have got to go. I have tried all sorts of things over the years, but once I found out I was pregnant with Elouise we started making changes in our home to use natural and safe products. It’s been a slow transition but little by little we are still replacing products in our home that normally have tons of icky chemicals with all natural products that work just as good, or even better. The smells of having a baby and now a toddler have sent me searching for something to remove odors naturally and I finally found Fresh Wave.
The Cannon Adventures: A Day in Oak Glen, CA
I apologize in advance for the amount of adorable photos I’m including in this post. It’s just been so long since I’ve had a family adventure to post because pregnancy has been a roller coaster. This trip up to Oak Glen is one that I knew was worth it even if it meant my sciatic nerve would be killing me by the end of the day. You see, a trip up to pick raspberries once Fall rolls around has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. Sure, it may not be Fall according to the calendar, but Starbucks is serving Pumpkin Spice Lattes so that counts to me!
