Back to School Lunch: Kids Char-cute-rie Board

It’s back to school time again, which means it’s also time to pack school lunches. This is my first year packing “real” lunches since last year Elouise only went half days, so now the pressure is on. I want to make sure I give her enough food that is balanced and filling but also something she will want to eat. There’s nothing worse than opening their lunch box to see 80% of the food you painstakingly packed wasn’t even touched. Well, I’ve partnered with Sargento to share one of my foolproof, favorite, easy, kid friendly lunch ideas. It’s a kids’ char-“cute”-rie lunch which is a play on a charcuterie board.

These are one of my favorite meal options for several reasons. They are so quick to throw together, the kids can help pick the items, and if you have multiple kids you can easily customize them. I also love them because I can give a mix of all of the food groups and portion out the things how I want them for Elouise. This time we went with some fruits and veggies, yogurt raisins, and DIY cracker sandwiches for her to build at lunchtime. We love Sargento® cheese slices in our house because they are real, natural cheese and not process cheese. I know when I buy my kids their favorite “orange cheese” I’m making a good choice. I let Elouise help me use mini shape cutters on the cheese to make it a little bit more fun and get her involved. Will I always do this extra step? Heck no! Most mornings I’ll just break the cheese into squares because we’re running late. If I do have extra time or it’s a special day (like the first day of school) I try to make it fun for her! Here are some other ideas for char-cute-rie lunches:
