I’m especially excited to share my dressing the bump post today because it is the official #BumpDay, as in ‘baby bump”. I’ll admit, last time around I didn’t even know such a day existed, so I’m happy to be able to participate this time. With my last pregnancy I never felt “secure” with my body. I’ll be honest, that was a struggle long before getting pregnant, but it seemed to continue into my pregnancy. The weird thing was, with Elouise I was self conscious about sharing my bump because most of the time I got comments on how tiny my bump was, until about month 8 where everything magically caught up. This time around it seems to be the opposite. I had a baby a mere 12 months before getting pregnant and lets just say that I made no real efforts to get into shape. I mean I was figuring out how to be a mom for crying out loud!
Hooray for Bump Day
That’s really why I committed to doing this dressing the bump series for pregnancy number two. Despite the awkwardness I felt during my pregnancy last time, looking back now I regret not having more photos. So as soon as my bump was in full force, I knew I had to begin documenting the growth. While I look at these photos now and may see my face a little more full than usual or arms less shapely than I’d like, I am trying my best to also find the beautiful things about my body in this season. Like how I actual do see the glow in my face or how my hair seems to be a little bit more soft and feminine. This is why I think Bump Day is so important, because it gives expecting mamas that extra little push to document their sweet growing babies. I hope if you’re a pregnant mama, you’ll join the fun and share photos of your bump!
Secret Stretchy Pants
I know I mentioned before how I was on the hunt for some quality maternity clothing pieces to get me through these last few months of pregnancy and I’m so happy to share that I found some gorgeous things through Motherhood Maternity. Everything I picked out looked like the clothes I would normally choose when shopping, maxi dresses with fun prints, flowy boho blouses, and distressed jeggings. The best part is, they actually fit my growing bump! Now I feel like me when I leave the house, but a little less squished like a sausage into my pre-pregnancy clothes. This maxi dress I’m wearing in this week’s photos is one of my favorite picks, it’s super summery and has a really pretty ombre effect within the print.
