If I’m being honest, one of my biggest fears about having Sullivan was that there would be moments that both kiddos would need me at the same time. Obviously I only have two hands, so I needed to find the best possible baby items to get to help keep my baby safe and happy if I needed to help his big sister. I did a LOT of research and heard raving reviews about the mamaRoo. Now I know why!

We had actually borrowed a mamaRoo from a friend when we had Elouise but since she was the center of our universe, it barely got used. She ended up being held and snuggled 99% of the day. The few times we did use it, it was amazing at keeping her asleep while we scarfed down some dinner or folded some laundry. Then we had to return it to our friends and to be honest our lives weren’t drastically changed. Yet, as I read reviews from fellow moms about how this item was essential for their second or third babies, I knew there had to be some magic to it that we never experienced.

We decided to go ahead and get one, knowing how much our friends had loved theirs. I am SO glad that we did, because Sully absolutely loves being in it. It is a great way to relax him and put him to sleep, and it will even keep him asleep if we put him in there for a nap. That’s not all though, he actually like being in it just as much when he is awake. It keeps him upright enough to stay awake and happy since he can see everything that is going on.He really likes to be part of the action, and why wouldn’t he? Plus the mobile is like his best friend. He stares at it and talks to it like they are old friends, it must just be the contrast of the black and white that stimulates him and gets him all excited.

Here’s why I think it’s so amazing, it actually is meant to mimic the motion of how we would rock and bounce him. There are 5 different motions that you can set it on, Sullivan definitely has his favorite. The “car ride” setting is great for sleeping and the “tree swing” setting is his favorite for when he’s just hanging out. There’s also built in sounds which are great because we are a white noise obsessed family. We all have to have a specific sound for sleeping. It’s even hooked up to bluetooth so I can adjust the settings and sounds right from the app on my phone.

All in all, I would highly recommend the mamaRoo to anyone! It’s really great for first time parents, but I would especially suggest it to parents with multiple kiddos. It’s a game changer!
