Okay, so let me start by saying that I actually love to cook. However, being an adult means that cooking is typically not a leisurely experience where I am trying out a new fancy recipe, wearing a cute apron, and listening to french music. Nope, like never actually. This means cooking has become a little bit more like a chore and a lot less like a hobby. I think the biggest reason why cooking isn’t as enjoyable for me is because I have to meal plan, grocery shop, and do all the cooking (luckily my amazing husband handles all the clean up). Enter my new obsession, Hello Fresh. I click a button and 3 meals are sent straight to my doorstep with everything I need to have a great dinner for my family. I can finally relax and have fun in the kitchen again and I even had the energy and patience to let Elouise be my mini sous-chef! Lucky for you I have a sweet coupon at the end of the post.
This awesome (not so) little box has THREE whole meals in it!
Let me break it down for you, first you pick your plan, Classic, Veggie, or Family. I chose the Family plan because I deal with two picky eaters, my toddler and my hubby. I will say though that both of them have been surprising me lately with their widening pallets, but if all I bought was mac n’ cheese and dino nuggets they’d be a happy pair. The Family Plan is supposed to have recipes that are family friendly, for both adults and kiddos, and I’d say that the three recipes I received were pretty great for all of us. One thing I will add is that with the Classic Plan and with the Family plan for 2 people you have 6 recipe options and get to pick your 3 faves, but with the other two plans you don’t get to pick. Luckily we really liked the 3 that were sent. We had (which is in the picture below) Cranberry Turkey burgers (which we are cooking the rest of the photos below), and Honey Mustard Glazed Chicken (which I am cooking after I finish typing this post).
I am SO do not have Master Chef plating skills, but I was pretty impressed with how pretty this meal was. Am I right?
Not only do you not have to meal plan, one of my least favorite parts, but they send you perfectly portioned ingredients. I’m talking, if it calls for balsamic vinegar, the box has a tiny cute bottle of it ready for you to use. That means that I don’t have to buy a huge portion of something just for a recipe only for it to get forgotten, spoiled, or thrown away. The only thing you need to make the recipes are basic panty items and cooking utensils. Mostly this was just olive oil, salt & pepper, a basic skillet, knife & cutting board, and a roasting pan. If you don’t already have those things, go to Target like now, because you just need them to be an official adult.
Can you tell we are moving? The fridge is all cleared off and sad looking!
I had a little helper with the salad assembly.
Serious cuteness.
Taste testing always.
Double dipping for more pecans.
Time to cook up the turkey burgers!
Time to try some cranberries while the burgers cook. I can’t believe I’d never given them to her before!
All in all, I give this whole deal a 10 out of 10 and if I could afford to have every meal sent through Hello Fresh I would in a heartbeat. It’s such a nice little break to not have to think for 3 meals a week. New customers will get $35 off their first box with the code: mrsseacannon35
Thanks to Hello Fresh for sponsoring this post!
