It’s been over a month now since Valentine’s Day actually happened so I figured it was as good a time as any to get a post up about how I did this budget-friendly party. The story goes, my husband goes out of town on a work trip, so I decide to have some of my favorites mamas over with their babes to exchange valentines, and then I black out and throw a full-blown party. Luckily, this is not the first time that this has happened. Why is that lucky? Well, you see since it’s happened before I know all the tricks to pulling this off in a budget-friendly way, you know the kind that won’t make my husband call me from his work cruise (it’s a thing) to ask if I’ve lost my mind. I’ll give you two words as a hint before I get into the nitty-gritty, Dollar Tree.
Planning the Perfect Family Vacation
The month of January is coming to a close and it’s the first time I’m posting about family travel on the blog. What is this craziness? In fact, one of the things we have decided to prioritize as a family in 2018 is quality family time. Usually, for us, that looks like going out on a wild adventure, but it really doesn’t have to be all that complicated. I’ve posted tons of family travel trips right here on the blog, but I also keep going back to Alamo Rent A Car’s Scenic Route – a travel resource online that I’ve shared about before. They actually have a Vacation Planning Toolkit which can help you get ready for National #PlanforVacation Day coming up on January 30th. Wait, you didn’t know that was a thing? Well, it is, so get to work planning something fun for you and your family for 2018!
Friday Faves
I know, I know, I am not the first person to throw up a list of their favorite things on their blog for the world (or in my case, my mom) to read. However, lately, I feel like I’m answering so many similar questions on my direct messages so I’m just gonna throw things up here once a week or so to share what things I’m really digging. It might be for mamas, kids, the home, you name it, I’m sharing it here! I may include affiliate links for some items but not always, you can read more about that here. As always, thanks so much for supporting my family. I recently had someone share with me that they have bought multiple things I’ve shared about and always loved them. That really made me happy because I honest to goodness only share with you what I really and truly love.
Zoomin’ into the New Year
I can’t even believe that my sweet baby girl is big enough to ride around on her own bike. Well, if we are going to be technical about it she’s scooting because right now what she has is a balance bike. All Elouise wanted for Christmas from Santa was a purple bike and a helmet, so you better believe I worked with the big guy at the North Pole to make sure that happened.
Hello 2018!
I’m not afraid to admit that I have never been one to stick with my New Year’s resolutions. I mean, who really does? If you do then maybe you can teach me your secret? Until I find someone to coach me on resolution keeping I decided to jump on the “word of the year” bandwagon. This was something I could get on board with, picking one word as the theme of the year and focusing on this word in your choices and actions. I really wanted to do this, but for some reason, nothing was coming to mind. So I decided to skip it until I was praying and rocking Sully before bed and God spoke it to me as plain as day. Call me crazy, but I know without a doubt that this was a God-given thing. It was like all at once I heard the word and all of the ways in which it was going to weave through my life this upcoming year. Big stuff. I can’t wait to share it with you guys.
