You know that infamous quote from Peter Pan “all you need is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust”? Well, I am here to say that there is a whole lot of truth to that. Your pixie dust might look a little different than mine, but I think that we can all find a little extra sprinkle of magic in our lives if we look for it. Yesterday I got to experience my own encounter with some pixie dust at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland! I got invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Conference held at the resort and it was nothing short of magical. I had SO many of you lovely folks asking questions so I thought I’d share a bit about the day over here!
Building an Online Community & Establishing your Personal Brand
It’s time for the second installment of #TheMomBlogCollective. If you missed the first one you can read it here. This week some of my favorite mamas and I are writing about the topic of building an online community that is authentic and engaged. A huge part of that deciding what your brand is so that you can being to draw in and connect with like minded people. Let me tell you a little bit more about how things got started for me, we have to go back into the archives for this one.
Wipe, Wipe, Baby
I’ve been pretty “punny” lately with my blog titles. If you thought that cheesy jokes were reserved only for Dads, I’m here to tell you that you have been missing out. Anyway, that is totally not the point of this post. I actually wanted to share a little mom hack I have found and that is the specialty wipe. I might have just invented that phrase but I think it describes it well. Pretty much I now have a few different wipes in my arsenal at any given moment that all have specific purposes. Besides my baby wipes for diaper changes I carry nose & face wipes, tooth & gum wipes, and pacifier & bottle wipes. You guys, yes they are a thing and yes you 100% need them. Thanks to Dr. Brown’s for sponsoring this post so I can share all of my secrets with you.
Meet Me at the Fair
One of my favorite traditions is dragging Christian to the Orange County Fair with me, he loves it. Actually, I think he just loves me. Either way, I have been going for a long time and so its something that I just have to do despite the heat or the crowds or even the insane cost for a corn dog the size of your arm. So, we took the kiddos, Aunt Cookie, and Grammie & Papa and went to the fair! We watched the little pig races, saw all sorts of animals, played some games, and ate lots of fair food. Elouise also played in the plash pad with a zillion other kids and got completely soaked, ate her own corn dog, and got to pick her own prize courtesy of Daddy’s game winning skills. Oh and thanks to Aunt Cookie she got to try her first Sour Patch Kid, which was pretty darn cute!
