I can hardly believe that half of a year has flown by. He has given us less sleep than we’ve ever had but more smiles than we could have hoped for. He really, truly is just the happiest little guy. He’s easy going, personable, and shares a smile with anyone who talks to him (or he thinks is talking to him lol). We really are thankful for our little man and the dynamic he’s added to our family.
Whatever Mama Wants, Mama Gets
Oh, if only that were true. Then I would have two kiddos who slept through the night and napped at the same time, someone to clean my house, a chef, and a private shuttle service from my house straight to Disneyland. Too much? I think not! Well, I will say that there are a few things that us mamas want that are more realistic and to help you spoil whoever you are celebrating this Mother’s Day I have complied a quick list of some great gifts in three price categories. Whether you have $30, $75, or you’re planning to spoil your mama, I’ve got some options that she will love!
The Cannon Adventures: Family Getaway at Omni La Costa
I’ve mentioned before that us Cannons love a good adventure. Christian and I were so lucky to get to travel all over the world before we had Elouise and we promised ourselves we wouldn’t stop exploring when she arrived. We totally kept that promise and have taken her all over on fun family getaways, road trips, and even a Hawaiian vacation. Things have been crazy for us since Sully arrived but we are finally settling into a routine and knew it was time to get a family adventure on the books for 2017. We decided on Omni La Costa in gorgeous Carlsbad, CA which is a quick hour drive away from us. It was the perfect early kick off to, what we hope will be, a Summer filled with adventures both big and small.
It’s All in the Details: More on Elouise’s Big Girl Room
Alrighty folks, after my post about Elouise’s big girl room I got lots of questions. You asked, so I’m answering. Here are all the teeny tiny details from Elouise’s room, scroll to the end to see where all the cuteness is from. Each and every thing was handpicked and intentional to make this space special for her. Let me know if I missed anything!
Elouise’s Big Girl Room with Birch Lane Kids
I’m not sure if it’s fair to call it her big girl room since she never had her own room prior to this, but that’s what we called it to get her excited about sleeping in there after we moved and it’s kinda stuck. Going from a mini crib in our walk in closet at our 900 square f00t one bedroom, to her own big room at our new house was a bit daunting at first so I knew that I had to make this space special for her. It took me a couple of months to pull it together, remember we started from scratch so give me some grace, and I can finally say that it is complete. I can honestly say that we are both incredibly pleased with how it all came together. You guys, she LOVES her room! Anytime that we have a guest over she wants to show it to them and bedtime and nap time are a breeze. Hallelujah! My most favorite pieces came from Birch Lane. The chest and nightstand matched the style of the room perfectly, they were affordable, and are such quality pieces that will grow with her even as her room changes in years to come.
