What’s in My Hospital Bag?

I spent this weekend gathering all of the items I think I’ll need and officially packed my hospital bag today. It is SO intimidating because I don’t want to overpack, but at the same time I would much rather have too much than realize I need something I don’t have. I had my little helper try to sneak a few extra things in, but I’m pretty sure I don’t need Mickey Mouse or a light up pumpkin wand for labor or recovery. I have complied a quick guide of the 16 things that I packed in my bag.

The Cannon Adventures: Pumpkin Patch Fun

Elouise’s dress | bow | boots | bracelets

Earlier this week Elouise, my mom, and I, went to a super fun event with Baby Bjorn at the cutest pumpkin patch. Elouise had the time of her life exploring all of the fall fun and touched at least half of the pumpkins. I knew that we had to take another trip to our local pumpkin patch so that she could explore some more and we could share the fun with Daddy. So, thats just what we did yesterday. Tom’s Farm is a the cutest little spot down the freeway from us and they had the perfect little patch set up with a variety of pumpkins, music, and games.

Dressing the Bump: Week 35

So Week 35 is coming to a close and I’ll be honest, I did not want to take these photos. I am feeling HUGE, like “walk past a mirror and do a double take because that can’t be me” kind of huge. I suppose that’s all part of the process though. Especially when you’re like me and somehow didn’t get that crazy burst of energy in the second trimester, I blame my toddler, and also have dealt with annoying sciatic pain almost constantly. This means that I spent a lot of time resting and the time I spent out and about was mostly for Disneyland trips or walks at the mall. If you catch where I’m going with this, I’m trying to nicely say that I was not the “fit mama” during this pregnancy. However, I was the mama who wasn’t opposed to eating the occasional burger and fries. So here I am with a month to go, and doing what I can to embrace my body for the miraculous thing it’s doing for our family. This baby better be cute!

Elouise’s Birth Story

Baby Boy’s due date is officially one month away, and I have been thinking back to a year and a half ago when I was in this same stage in my pregnancy with Elouise. Things looked a whole lot different but somehow they are also surprisingly similar. Thinking back made me realize that I have never actually written down Elouise’s birth story, so before I have another story to tell and things get all jumbled, I decided to share it here with you all. I spared no detail, so it’s pretty long. Maybe grab a cup of coffee and hunker down to read it during morning nap time.

Mrs Seacannon Must-Haves: Tot Squad Baby Gear Services

There are certain things I am a slight germaphobe about, but since becoming a mother I have found that it’s all about picking your battles when it comes to germs. We’ve all heard the advice, you know, a healthy exposure to germs is good to build up the immune system or God made the dirt and the dirt won’t hurt. Well, dirt might not hurt as far as passing along deathly diseases but it does hurt my mama heart. I try to keep the “obvious” things clean, giving extra care to the things that go into my kiddo’s mouth. Then, I read a study done by the TODAY show  that a car seat tends to have twice as many germs than a toilet. Um, WHAT? Yes. I immediately knew I had to find a solution, and I finally found it with The Tot Squad.
