#babyregistryessentialsgiveaway

When we registered for Elouise I remember being so overwhelmed. I am pretty “type a” so I had done a ton of research on baby products, but nothing prepares you for the insane checklist that is handed to you with that scanner gun. I remember the amount of suggested items on the registry list to be around 300 or something equally as crazy. Well I was a sucker, because immediately all of my research and logic went out the window. If this list said I needed it, it was going on the registry! Needless to say, I ended up with all sorts of things that got used once, and even some that didn’t get used at all. It made me sick to think of all the money that could have been spent on diapers. (Why don’t babies come potty trained?) So this time I knew things had to be different, and I created a no nonsense registry filled with only the most essential items. Right now on my Instagram page you can register to win 10 of those times.

5 Do’s & Don’ts when Traveling with a Toddler

So let me start by saying that yesterday was the worst day of my life. Part of me is thankful that I haven’t had worse things happen, but then the other part of me is still traumatized from it all. Can I just say something that seems obvious? I’m going to because it screwed us over big time. Always research airline policies. You don’t wan’t to pay $25 for your bags on the way out and have to pay $270 on the way home. Yep, that was us, I thought my husband was going to have an aneurysm. Then our flight was delayed for 20 minutes, that turned into 3 hours. The best part was we were told after the 20 minutes that the problem was fixed and they were completing paperwork, so the paperwork lasted 2 and a half hours I guess. Hilarious. My poor sleep deprived child was having meltdown after meltdown in the airport. Then they lost our car seat. Our car seat you guys! Meaning that we couldn’t leave the airport with our child. I just can’t even think about it all again because I might go into pre-term labor. I did compile a list for you guys of do’s and don’t I learned on our trip, so I’ll stop complaining and share those.

Family Maternity Photos

I can’t believe we are getting so close to meeting this sweet baby. With my baby shower this next weekend, I know that the rest of the time is going to just fly by with nesting and loads of tiny baby laundry. So, I knew I wanted to take some family maternity photos pronto. First of all, because I didn’t want to run out of time, and second, I knew I would only be getting bigger and bigger these last weeks. I enlisted the help of one of my besties and her super skilled photographer husband from Eric McFarland Photography to take our pictures. The results, as you can see, are positively dreamy. Plus, my dress from Roolee boutique made this 8 month pregnant lady feel like a zillion bucks. I also promised to share a bit more about how my husband and I met and how he proposed, so scroll down past all the pretty photos to read that goodness.

Small Shop Spotlight: Ryan And Rose

You know those products that you get and think “How did I ever live without this?” Well, for me one of those products in Ryan and Rose. The only difference is that we have been using them for most of Elouise’s life, so my thought is more along the lines of “How could I ever live without this?” It sounds a little dramatic, I know but I totally mean it. Their slogan is ” Don’t want to lose it, Cutie Clip it” and it’s true. Anything that I want to keep secure I attach to a clip. Sometimes we have 3 or 4 clips working their magic at one time.

What I’m Packing for a Plane Ride with a Toddler

Tomorrow we are waking up bright and early for a traffic filled drive to the airport and hopping on a flight to Seattle. One of my oldest and dearest friends is getting married so we will be up there for 5 days sight seeing and celebrating. Plus, Elouise will be making her debut as the cutest flower girl this side of the Mississippi, or anywhere for that matter. The last time we flew with E she was only 7 months old, but she was the perfect little angel. Well flying with a walking, talking, very opinionated toddler is going to be a whole different experience I’m sure. However, I am prepared with all sorts of tricks and tactics to keep her happy so I thought I’d share with you guys what I’ll be packing in my diaper bag.
