Okay, all of my fellow Southern California mamas I know you understand when I say this weather is making summer fun a bit tricky. When its 100 degrees (or more) outside, your only options are to be in some form or water or find something to do inside. This is why we came up with a cooler kind of picnic, and took our mat inside instead. We love visiting Daddy at work, and usually join him for lunch on Wednesdays after story time at the library. So this time, we brought our favorite mat up to his office and ate lunch criss-cross-applesauce.
Our Breastfeeding Journey
One of my biggest anxieties when I was pregnant with Elouise was that for some reason or another, I wouldn’t be able to successfully breastfeed her. I know it may seem silly since there’s nothing wrong with bottle feeding, pumping, or formula, I totally believe that fed is best. I had always just had this image of nursing my sweet baby and my heart ached for it to be a reality.
Father’s Day Love
It’s about to get sappy you guys. You see, I count myself really lucky. I grew up knowing a lot of strong and caring men: my Dad, Grandpa, uncles, even dads of friends. Naturally, when I pictured my own family one day, my husband was a mixture of all of the good I saw in them. The silliness of my Dad or the strong fix-anything nature of my Grandpa. Even tiny things like a love for travel, a generous heart, the ability to use a bbq, or the willingness to help around the house in any way possible.
The Magic of Disney
Growing up in Southern California meant that I never went too long without a trip to Disneyland. In fact, I even had an Annual Pass all through college. Naturally, when I had Elouise I began wondering when I would finally be able to take her to the happiest place on earth.
Why I’m Hooked on Prenatal Yoga
Believe it or not, my doctor doesn’t count chasing around my crazy active toddler as exercise. Clearly she must not have children. In any case, I have been trying my hardest to stay active with intentional exercise during this pregnancy. You see, when I was pregnant with Elouise I was teaching full time and on my feet most of the day scurrying around a classroom. I never really felt like squeezing in those extra 30 minutes of exercise seemed as pressing. This time around, I’m a stay at home mama and feel like I have no excuse.
