How to Conquer Universal Studios Hollywood with your Preschoolers

Last month we went on a family trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. Crazy enough, neither Christian or I had ever been even though we grew up in Southern California. Leading up to the trip I asked for tips from friends on Facebook and got tons of comments about how it was great but mostly for older kids. That sent me into a tailspin of research, which honestly I recommend you do before any big trip, including amusement parks. I found blog posts and Youtube videos all about the park which was helpful because it gave me a feel for what we would be experiencing and the videos I showed my kids got them super hyped for going to this new place! I am pleased to report that the whole family had a blast and honestly there were even things we weren’t able to get to because we were having so much fun. Hopefully we can get back again soon but until them let me share with you my tips for enjoying Universal Studios Hollywood with your preschool aged kiddos.

Spring Break at HoJo Anaheim

You know by now that we LOVE staying at the Howard Johnson Anaheim anytime we have something to celebrate or really just whenever we need a mini family get away. This was our 4th time staying there and we are even more obsessed! I shared about our other trips, kicking off summertime last year and sharing our tips for picking kid friendly hotels, but this time we had an early spring break trip to celebrate Elouise’s birthday.

Scrub-a-dub-dub!

Babies and bath time can be tricky. I’ll never forget when Elouise screamed for her first bath, and then with her second, and third. Let’s just say that she was not a fan. We resorted to bringing her in the shower which isn’t awful but also isn’t the most convenient or, let’s face it, safest option. We ended up on the same road with Sully, but finally for baby number 3 we have mastered bath time thanks to the Summer Infant Clean Rinse Bather.

Finding Calm in Our Crazy Day

As a mom of 3 kiddos under 4 years old, I have realized that I have to get creative with how I find rest throughout my day. Currently I am in a season where someone is always awake, meaning I don’t get that coveted nap-time break I used to. Elouise has given up her nap and switched to a “quiet rest time” on her bed, but most days Teddy is awake right during this afternoon lull. I recently discovered the CALM Raspberry Lemon drink from Natural Vitality and it has changed my afternoon vibes for the better.
