The Happiest Holiday Staycation

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that our love for Disneyland runs deep. What you might not know is that we miss out half the fun because we can never get there when the park opens because of dreaded California traffic. I’m talking, I’d have to rally the troops and be out the door at 5;30 am and still hit some stretches of bumper to bumper on our way. Yes, we still are pretty lucky to be so close to the happiest place on earth, but I just discovered a way to make it even happier when we recently stayed at Grand Legacy At The Park just across the street from Disneyland and it was the best decision!

Grand Legacy at the Park is literally a two-minute walk to the entrance of Disneyland. We rolled out of bed, got dressed and headed out the door. For the first time in, well ever, we arrived at the gates before they opened. That means we got to see all the fun that happens at the park opening and got to get on our favorites rides with no wait! And all the mams with toddlers said “Amen!”. Here’s the really amazing part, we got to walk back to the hotel for naptime. My kids tend to meltdown if they don’t get naps and they aren’t exactly the type to just take a good hard nap anywhere we are. They are particular, and hey I get it, we have routines at home. Luckily we had everything they needed back at the hotel and we all got to go back and rest up for the second half of the day. Afterwards, we moseyed on over to the park for the Christmas parade and the firework show. I wasn’t even worried about keeping the kids out late because we had such a quick walk back to the hotel.

The next morning we took advantage of the pool and splash pad before checkout. Not before breakfast though, obviously. They provide snack bags at the pool for all guests during specific breakfast hours with things like a granola bar, string cheese, and a water bottle. Super convenient if you’re heading over to the parks! There are also tons of restaurants within walking distance if you want something a bit more substantial. They even hook you up with some coupons to some nearby places upon check-in. Everyone who works at the hotel is so kind and helpful. We stayed in the new front tower which was super nice! On the top floor of the front tower is The Fifth, a rooftop restaurant and bar which unmatched views. We didn’t get a chance to get up there but we have heard incredible things, including the views during the fireworks shows. The last thing I want to mention is how affordable this is for a family on vacation (or staycation). I just went to look at prices and I was seeing some as low as $89 a night! That’s crazy good!

Our stay at the hotel really did elevate our trip to the next level of awesome and we were so happy with our stay! Thanks so much to Grand Legacy At The Park for hosting us!
