It’s no secret that I love Disneyland! I’ve been at least once a year (sometimes 2 or 3 times a month) for as long as I can remember. Over the years I’ve learned which things are worth the extra weight in your bag and what things you can honestly just leave at home. Then when I had kids I had to re-learn everything, and now that I no longer have a “baby” (even though my two year old still feels like a baby to me) I’m heading to the park next week with a slightly different list of items that I used to. I was so excited that Petunia Pickle Bottom sent over some pieces from their new Beauty & the Beast collection with Disney Baby. They have been my go to for Disney day bags and these ones did not disappoint!
* Thanks to Petunia Pickle Bottom for gifting us me the pieces. All opinions shared are my own. To read more about my sponsorship and disclosure policy click here.
Before I share, I want to make a note that all of my kids are 2, 4 and 6 years old. They are no longer “babies” but still little enough to require some extra care items when packing for a 12+ hour Disney day. I love having a big stroller with room for not only my giant children (they’re all in 99% for height for kids their age) but also for the epic storage that usually comes with that. Right now my fave is the double Bob stroller. I may not use it to jog or run but I happen to consider Disneyland from open to close with three kids a marathon in it’s own right! Typically I separate things its a couple of different bags/packing containers so that we can lessen the load in our main bag that we have to carry with us on each ride. So, without further ado, here’s what I’m bringing!
What to Pack for a Disneyland with Young Kiddos
In the main bag:
Let me first say, I highly recommend one that can be a backpack, and one that is comfy. You’re going to be lugging it every time you get in line for a ride. I’ve always loved the bag options from Petunia Pickle Bottom. This Pivot Backpack is my new favorite style!
- Diapers/Pull Ups & Wipes: you’re going to want to pack what you normally would use in a day and then add two more. Luckily, if you do run out, you can buy some from the baby care center that you can find in both Disneyland and California Adventure. If you want to be extra fun you can store your wipes in these reusable Mickey pouches, that are also great for snacks!
- Sanitizing Alcohol Wipes: I know some may gravitate to Clorox or the like but I steer clear of harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances when I can. These ones from Honest have all of the cleaning power but are much safer for little hands! You can also use them on tables, chairs, benches, etc.
- Sunscreen: I recommend having a regular and a face stick. You’ll probbaly be wanting to apply the face one more frequently and it’s so much easier to apply to little faces. And this is just a general PSA to be a kind human and do not bring a spray sunscreen into the parks. I cant tell you how many times I’ve walked through a big cloud of careless sunscreen spray and as someone who is allergic to most on the market, the end result is never fun. I love Babo Botanicals face stick and baby sunscreen.
- Re-usable Straws: TRUST me! Disneyland currently only offers paper straws. If you’re like me and cannot stand to have mushy paper straws in your drink, then bring your own re-usable ones. I actually just purchased this four pack where each has it’s own compact carrying case.
- Sunglasses: Especially if you’re going during the summer months, which lets face it happens to be 8-% of the year in Southern California. If your kids will wear them, throw some in for them too. I like my the bigger, the better. This $15 pair has been my go-to for over a year now!
- Extra Masks: This is a no-brainer. You never know what will happen and with the strict mask rule in place right now, you don’t want to be shelling over an arm and a leg for a replacement in the park. I put ours in this mini clip on case from Petunia Pickle Bottom. It’s great for snack or pacifiers, but I thought our masks would fit perfectly and I was right!
- First Aid Kit: We are pretty simple when it comes to dealing with booboos, we clean them, put on some Owie oil, and slap on a bandaid. But you can find really great mini kits like this if you want to be extra prepared. Don’t fret though, there is a first aid building at both parks!
- Battery Operated Fan: Here’s the thing, Disneyland always somehow feels 5-10 degrees hotter than it actually is, so you are more than likely going to need a little gust of cool air every now and again. This is especially great if you have sleeping kiddos in the stroller because we know they get sweaty as all heck. This fan is above all the rest though, its rechargeable so you can connect it to a power bank (more on that later) and juice it back to life.
- Extra Clothes: I have mine in our Max Pixel from Petunia Pickle Bottom. I like to have a full change of clothes for our littlest guys because he’s crazy and the extra undies for the big kids. I always like to bring extra socks too.
- A Small Wallet: I don’t know about you, but my “mom wallet” is a brick. I never bring it with me to the parks. I always grab a little zipper pouch and throw in my ID, debit card, and then our tickets.
Snack bag:
Yes you read that right, I have an entire separate bag for snacks. If you’re up for buying your kids snacks every 30 minutes, go ahead and skip this part. No judgement here, just also no budget for the amount of snacks my three bottomless pits can eat in a 12 hour period. I used our Travel Case from Petunia Pickle Bottom. It’s sturdy enough to confidently store our snacks, but also can be a little flexible to squeeze under the stroller. I’ll include some of my favorite non-refrigerated (that’s the key) snacks…
- fruit (like apples and cuties)
- kids granola/protein bars
- mixed nuts
- peanut butter filled pretzels
- pb &j sandwiches
- applesauce pouches
- raisins/yogurt covered raisins
- cheese cracker sandwiches
- veggie straws
Stroller Caddy:
These are maybe one of my favorite additions to the lineup, it keeps all of your most used/important items at your fingertips while you’re walking along. I really love the look and design on this one from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
- Power Bank: With the amount of times I check the Disneyland app for wait times or to mobile order food combined with the amount of pictures and videos I take, we’re going to need to recharge a couple of times. The power bank allows you to do just that without having to plug into a wall socket. This one is a great affordable option!
- Stroller Lock: You don’t want to think it will happen to you, but unfortunately strollers do get stollen at Disneyland. It may be the happiest place on earth but people are sometimes not as happy. This stroller lock always gives me peace of mind when we have to park our stroller to get on a ride. I can’t find the exact one we have but this ones is very similar. You want one with a code that is retractable. That way you can string it around a railing or between the wheels.
- Insulted Water Cups: We love to bring our water cups that have the close-able straw to prevent spilling and insulted is best to keep it cold. We absolutely love these cups!
- Spray Hand Sanitizer: With my kiddos I swear by the hand sanitizers that are sprays. It’s so much easier to use with them and you can make sure that it covers every inch of their chubby little hands. I love this one from Sun Bum that has natural fragrance!
- Lip Balm: Really needs no explanation but I will say that I cannot go through a day without so I had to include it on the list. I’m also super duper picky about only using my favorite Young Living lip balm, but if you aren’t particular I’m sure that you can find some in one of the many shops at the parks!
I’m sure that I’m probably missing a thing or two from this list and I’ll come back and update it once we actually go next week! You can click here to head to my Instagram to see a fun reel I made to show off everything too! And you can click here to see my Amazon storefront that has a ton of other fun Disney items!
