Screen Shot 2016-07-19 at 1.43.41 PM

Shopping during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been sort of like a family tradition for as long as I can remember. In fact, shopping at Nordstrom in general is kind of like a requirement as a right of passage, with a Honey Almond Latte from their eBar in hand of course. Right now is like the sale of all sales, and I honestly wait for it all year and get the best deals. Early access is happening now for card holders and will be open for everyone else on July 22nd. These prices are too good to pass up though, so if you don’t want to miss out on that perfect pair of distressed denim or your favorite nail polish, sign up for a card here. They offer debit and credit options and Nordstrom is known for incredible customer service, think hassle free returns, free shipping, and friendly sales people.

Since I love a good deal, and right now with baby number two on the way I am on a super strict budget, I rounded up my 50 favorite pieces for under $50 on sale right now. These are all for mama, because sometimes you just gotta treat yourself. Just click the photos to shop the look!

Mrs Seacannon Must-Haves: Tubby Todd Mama Products

TT.MamaProducts-8

We discovered pretty early on that Elouise had sensitive skin just like her Daddy and I do. In fact she even had some pretty bad eczema as a newborn. We tried several different all natural products for her and none of them cut it, but then we found Tubby Todd. Their products are 100% natural and are so luxurious, yes you can use that word for baby bath products. For the past year we have been hooked, and I say ‘we’ because it’s totally the body wash, lotion, and bubble bath that I love to use as well. Naturally when they announced that they were releasing a line of products for mamas, I knew I had to get my hands on them. They sure did not disappoint!

Mrs Seacannon Must-Haves: How We Do Breakfast

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Each morning, as we pick up our sweet daughter out of her crib she looks loving into our eyes and then frantically signs for “food”. I can’t blame her, since for as long as I can remember I wake up to a growling stomach as well. For that reason, we don’t mess around at breakfast, and we usually try to hit at least four of the five food groups. The bummer about breakfast is that it happens a lot earlier that I’d like it to, meaning that I’m always looking for ways to make this particular mealtime easy. Thats why I’m sharing some of my must haves for making breakfast a little easier (coffee is a given).

5 Steps to Deal with a Toddler Tantrum

The toddler stage is my favorite so far, the deeper interaction and engagement, the ability to communicate, and the sweet loving silliness as they explore and discover all day long. Then, there’s the tantrums, and a 2 min toddler fit can feel like it lasts an eternity and sometimes you can sense your own emotions start to bubble up. In our household the toddler tantrums have just begun, still nothing too extreme but they are enough to make me count backwards from ten in my head. I have found 5 easy steps to help me deal with toddler tantrums calmly and, most of the time, effectively.

The Bravery of Motherhood

Being a mom is the scariest thing I’ve ever done. It is certainly not for the faint of heart, and requires you to be brave. Brave, it’s a word that has been on my heart in a deep way since the day I gave birth to Elouise. Yet, even the agonizing pain of pushing 9 pounds and 4 ounces of perfection out of my body with no drugs (that’s a whole other story) isn’t the thing that required the most bravery. No, in fact the thing that requires me to exercise the most bravery began the moment the doctor handed Elouise to me. I will never forget seeing her for the first time, holding her close and looking into her eyes. I knew at that moment that my life was changed and I felt this inexplicable responsibility toward this little person, I want to keep her safe from the world and I don’t ever want to let her down.
