Kids Night on Broadway at Segerstrom

Christian and I both have a deep love for the theater. He grew up performing in theater productions and I grew up performing literally everywhere I went (one example being the bathroom of my tiny orthodontic’s office where everyone could hear me belting Part of Your World at my own reflection in the mirrored walls). What can I say, the world was my stage! But we quickly found when we were dating that attending the theater was one of favorite things to do together. We made it a goal to see one performance a year and our track record held pretty strong until we had babies, gotta love those squishy little things. Last year we were able to take the kids to the Nutcracker ballet though and I feel like it really re-ignited our passion for live theater! Yesterday the big boys got to have a special date to see Blue Man Group at Segerstrom Center for the Arts and boy did they have a blast!

5 Tips for Taking Kids to a Live Theatre Performance

It’s no secret that Sullivan is insanely obsessed with nutcrackers. It’s been a solid year of this obsession and it doesn’t seem to have an end in sight! To be honest, I kind of love his little quirky desire to carry a nutcracker around everywhere, it makes him unique! Well, this year my mom showed him a performance of the Nutcracker ballet on YouTube and his love grew to a whole new level. After watching it for about a week straight, I found out that the American Ballet Theatre was performing the Nutcracker ballet at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. If you’re local to Orange County you probably know this venue, but if you’re not you may be missing out. Even though we live in the Inland Empire it’s an easy drive out and it’s always well worth it because of how top notch the performances are. This Winter there are a bunch of super fun things happening there actually, not only can you see the Nutcracker through the 22nd, but they are also hosting Blue Man Group in January (more on that below). After our first trip to a live theatre performance, I have a few tips to share that will hopefully help your experience when you take your kiddos!

A Day Out with Thomas at the Southern California Railway Museum

We celebrated our little guy on his 3rd birthday by taking him to the Southern California Railway Museum for a Day Out with Thomas. The event itself is something that travels all over to different locations and we were lucky enough to have one happening about 20 min from us. I had never even heard of the Southern California Railway Museum but it was incredible! The grounds were huge and offered so many activities for families to have railway themed fun. They are actually open year round and this year they are having a Polar Express event for the first time! SO magical!! If you have a little one who likes trains like mine, the Southern California Railway Museum is a must see.

Pumpkin Patchin’

We decided last minute to head to the pumpkin patch the other night with some of our besties. It was the BEST decision. The lighting was terrible by the time we got there because of traffic (thank you Southern California) but these photos are some special memories so they’re going to live on my blog for-eva. So, without further ado, or any meaningful captions or stories, here’s some photos of our pumpkin patch adventure!

Moving on up!

You guys, we did it! If you missed it, we moved a week ago. We had been searching for 6 months to find the right place that was closer to Christian’s new job and I am so happy that we are finally here. Our new place is 1,000 sq ft less than our previous house so I knew two things, that we needed to get rid of a TON of stuff and that we needed movers. We had a not so great experience before with a moving company but my hubby found Ruff & Ready Moving and they gave us total peace of mind.
