Laundry Safety Tips: Keep Packets Up!

It’s safe to say that as parents, one of our main goals is to keep our kids safe. Whether you identify as a helicopter mom, a free range mom, or a tiger mom, I think we can all agree that we want our children to stay safe. A huge factor of safety in the home is keeping household chemicals out of reach from tiny hands. Now that I have two little ones, laundry safety is something I’ve had to become much more intentional about. That’s why I’m so excited to be working with the American Cleaning Institute to share their PACKETS UP! campaign, which is all about educating parents and caregivers on ways to reduce the number of accidental liquid laundry packet exposures in children.

Babymoon Bliss

I’m sure you’ve heard the term “babymoon” before. I know I for sure didn’t make it up, but I did take advantage of the face that society has coined a term for the important time a couple spends enjoying each other’s company before welcoming a new baby into the family. We had one before Elouise came, but didn’t end up getting to have one before Sully arrived. I think that first was was really meaningful because it was our first baby and I think we felt this one was almost equally important because brining a third baby into our family is going to mean we’re becoming a circus. Mom and Dad are going to be outnumbered and life as we know it will change big time. So we did things right this time and drove a few hours north to Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara.

8 “No DIY Necessary” Homemade Halloween Costumes

So, you might remember my post about Halloween Costumes last year. I did a ton of fun and super easy DIY costumes using our favorite clothing pieces from Primary and it was a huge hit! We had so much fun creating them that I wanted to do it again this year. Then I remembered that I am super pregnant and re-evaluated my life. I almost just threw in the towel on the whole thing but then I came up with an even better idea to make even easier homemade costumes. You did’t think it was possible did you? Well, I’m here to tell you that there will be no sewing, hot gluing, painting, cutting, or anything crafty for these costumes. All you’ll need to do is hit up your favorite store’s Halloween section or bargain section and grab one or two pieces. I didn’t spend more than $10 for the accessories for any of these costumes. Mom win!

Hospital Bag Packing (The Third Time Around)

This is my third time packing a hospital bag and I’ve realized that you really don’t “need” much at all. There are tons of things however that will make your stay a little bit easier and more comfortable. Typically in life I am all about keeping it simple but I tend to also be an over-packer. It’s a weird combination, I’m aware, but especially when it comes to something like giving birth I’d much rather have a bigger bag than regret that I didn’t bring something along. The things I’m sharing are obviously the things that are my own personal choices that I know will create a comfortable environment for me and my hubby. So, take these lists with a grain of salt and go with your gut when you’re packing. I’m going to include a list of items for during labor and one for items I pack for recovery.

No Nonsense Baby Registry Essentials

Let me start by saying that this is the third time I’ve registered for a new baby. I’ve also spent the last 3 years testing and reviewing baby products for my blog and Instagram. I’ve had almost all of the hip, cool products and I’ve figured out which ones are worth your money and space in your home and which are something to pass on. I’ve created this list through that lens, with the hopes in sharing the no nonsense items that you need. These are the items I know I will be using almost daily, if not multiple times a day, for moths to come. Obviously this is missing things like clothes, diapers, pacifiers, and bottles. You’re going to need those too, but those things are so specific from person to person. In fact with diapers, pacifiers, and bottles, it’s really going to be up to your baby because even between my own kids the “right” products were from different brands. So go have fun with that stuff, but come here to find the no nonsense goods you’re going to need.
