2nd Trimester Must Haves

Now that my second trimester has officially ended I thought it’d be fun to share my must haves with you all. I get tons of pregnancy related questions on Instagram because, lets face it, we all just want a little help to survive while we are busy growing a human. It’s not an easy task! This trimester was supposed to be the one where all of my energy came back and I felt amazing. You read all the promises about the second trimester being “smooth sailing” but that was not the case for me. Maybe it’s because it’s my 3rd time growing a baby in just 4 short years. I guess I was asking for it haha. Well I actually have just a handful of things to share because after the third time around I’ve realized the things that I actually need and the ones that are just added fluff.

  1. Harmless Harvest Coconut Water: There are so many amazing benefits to drinking coconut water. I’ve tried lots of them and to be honest, this is the only one I’ve ever liked and big surprise, it actually tastes like coconut. That’s because its pure and organic. Boom. Here’s why it’s great for pregnancy: its great for helping to relieve heartburn and constipation (yes please!), its a natural diuretic, has tons of electrolytes, boosts immunity, low sugar content, and in the third trimester it can even help boost amniotic fluid levels.
  2. This Bar Saves Lives: I am always looking for things to throw in my diaper bag to have while I’m on the go. When pregnancy hunger strikes I need to be able to fuel up otherwise I get shaky and cranky and it’s just not pretty. These bars are my new jam, especially the Madagascar Vanilla Almond and Honey flavor. The ingredients are quality, they are non-gmo, and dairy free. They totally take the edge off my hunger and keep me happy until I can fill up on Mexican food or a giant salad (my cravings are all over the board haha)
  3. Ningxia Red Singles: I’ve been drinking this daily for about a year now, but I have been loving it especially during pregnancy. It helped curb my morning sickness in the first trimester and these last few months it has been giving me a much needed natural energy boost in the afternoons when I drink it. If I know I won’t be home I grab one of the singles and throw it in my bag to drink on the go.
  4. Belly Bandit B.D.A. Tank: This is one of two items from Belly Bandit that I wore all the time when I was pregnant with Sully and I had to get another one for this pregnancy. It’s super comfortable and provides built in support for your baby bump. It’s honestly just so comfortable, I love it!
  5. Belly Bandit Thighs Disguise: This is the other one I repurchased for this pregnancy. Since this pregnancy is happening mostly in the “summer” (and Summer in Southern California is basically from May-September haha) I am living in dresses most of the time. When I have a dress on its so nice to throw these on underneath for modesty, but also to support my growing bump as it’s just hanging out under a flowy dress.
  6. Young Living White Angelica Essential Oil: It’s no secret that we use oils all day long for just about everything in our house. This oil blend has been my go-to at bedtime to help deal with the insane pregnancy dreams that I’ve been getting. The oils in this blend are known to promote positive thoughts and energy so I either diffuse it by my bed or rub in on my shoulders just before I hop into bed.
  7. Rainbow Light Trimester 2 Vitamins: I will admit that I am a bit of a vitamin snob. I won’t just buy any old bottle on the shelf at Target. There are a lot of ingredients in most mainstream brands that are questionable and also they are lacking in a few really important components. For one thing, most prenatal vitamins do not contain folate, and instead contain a form of folic acid that is not easy for your body to process or beneficial to you or your growing baby. I also love when vitamins go over and above the norm and include bonus components. I love that Rainbow Light are clean, safe, include a superfood blend, probiotics, and are designed to give you the right amounts of vitamins and minerals for each trimester!
  8. Pink Stork Calm Tea: I know I’ve shared about a lot of Pink stork products before, and it’s because I truly love them! The calm tea is my new favorite to sip as I’m winding down for the night. It’s caffeine free and can not only help to relieve stress and anxiety but also promotes restful sleep, which I really need these days!
